From the Tiber to Trail Creek explores the enduring legacy of Roman urban design and the ways its principles have influenced urban development across time, including within our own local landscape.
Drawing from decades of research, travel, and teaching, Kubik will guide attendees through the evolution of city planning—from the grandeur of Rome’s classical grids, civic spaces, and infrastructure, to the challenges and opportunities shaping Michigan City’s development today.

Step back in time for an evening of laughter, satire, and timeless social commentary—straight from ancient Rome!
Join us for a spirited table reading of Formio: The Opportunistic Parasite, a 2,000-year-old Roman comedy believed to be from the era of Plautus or Terence. This clever and comedic script offers a glimpse into Roman theatrical traditions while shining a light on themes that still resonate today: greed, manipulation, ambition, and the ever-hungry climb for status.
Performed by a talented local cast in a relaxed, script-in-hand style, this one-night-only event invites audiences to experience the humor and wit of classical theater in an approachable and entertaining format. Whether you're a lover of drama, history, or just a good laugh, this evening promises something special
